About Us

David Phelps

I started in the jewelry business in 1972 with my father and my mother. Our first store was a tent on the side of loon mountain up in New Hampshire. We did that every summer and during the winter our first real business location was the old Mad River Canoe Company. We were there for a few years and then we moved a little bit nicer location just down the road.  Then I joined the Army and flew helicopters for first cavalry division for a few years. When I got out, my parents had moved to Texas so I went to join them and their jewelry store in Plano Texas. I worked for them until they retired in 1986. In 1997 North Carolina and I started working out of my home creating high-end custom jewelry for jewelry stores.  Then in 2003 one of my clients was retiring so we negotiated the lease for his jewelry shop and we've been here ever since.

I joined the jewelry business to be with my husband David.  Currently I am studying with the gemological Institute of America to become a gemologist and I've completed my diamond and colored stone courses and now I've moved on to gem identification which is the final course.  I'm sort of the store mom, I make sure everything runs smoothly and help with keeping the paperwork up to date.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
